2018: Addressing diversity in education – CJRAE Vrancea

General objective: to integrate the international experience and expertise in the educational assistance activities that we provide to the schools in Vrancea country, especially regarding the educational inclusion in multicultural context.
Specific objectives:
- the development of the competencies of 4 of our educational experts regarding the inclusive education and training, by participating to a 2 days’ job-shadowing period and 7 days’ course, both activities organized by InterCultural Iceland (ICI)
- the development of a new curricula and new training on inclusiveness and multicultural environment.
InterCultural Iceland is a non-profit consortium which develops innovative educational initiatives and offers a broad spectrum of multi-disciplinary expertise and training activities. It was founded in 2003 in Reykjavík Iceland. ICI has become an important research and training centre at a national and European level on the themes of adult training, new competences and teacher training in intercultural education, co-operative learning for didactics, and for anti-racist and sensitization training about migration, prejudice and discrimination.
Impact: creating a more various educational offer for CJRAE Vrancea by designing and implementing educational activities on inclusiveness and multicultural environment, by using didactic and training methods that focuses on intercultural dialogue and valuing diversity in the classroom.
Main results: curricula for inclusion in multicultural environments and teachers training program based on the experience and expertise of the international partner.
Numbers: 4 trained specialists; 2 days of job-shadowing; 7 days of structured course; 1 innovative curricula; 1 teachers training program; 250 teachers, trainers, managers in education involved in the activities.
